
I have not found this to be the case with other alternatives (Parsec definitely no, AnyDesk also seems to be no). One very special thing about TeamViewer is it doesn't care if your display is off. There is an important caveat with AnyDesk, Parsec, and maybe Chrome RDP. Windows RDP - Warning: Exposing your RDP session directly to the internet IS UNSAFE so don't use it if you don't know what you're doing or how to take steps to protect yourself, such as setting up a VPN Parsec - technically game streaming software, attempts to maintain higher framerates but at a loss of clarity when there is a lot of motion on screenĬhrome Remote Desktop - have not used it personally but it is another option

I'm posting this as a resource for anyone else having the issue of the "connection blocked after timeout" message that never goes away, and also to complain (of course).ĪnyDesk - probably the most comparable alternative to TeamViewer
